Man builds house from bottles
Updated 19.47 Sat Dec 22 2007
A retired boxing coach has gone in for some extreme recycling by building a house out of bottles.
Vitautas Janiskevicius used 20,000 bottles to construct the house in a small village in Lithuania.
He lived in a cottage before coming up with idea of living in a glass house ten years ago.
He said: "After all I did not know what to do with the empty bottles, so I decided I could use them to build walls."
His wife Danyuta said: "I realised the house could be fine. So I told him to go ahead."
The couple are now planning an extension to the new home - provided they can collect enough bottles to finish the job.
