Brit soldier killed in Afghan named
A British soldier killed in southern Afghanistan has been named as Captain Sean Dolan, the Ministry of Defence said.
Captain Dolan was from the 1st Battalion, The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters.
The Ministry of Defence said next of kin have been informed.
Captain Dolan was injured while attempting to destroy a damaged coalition forces vehicle to deny it to Taliban fighters near the village of Qaleh-e-Gaz, south west of the town of Sangin.
He was taken to the military hospital in Camp Bastion but later died from his wounds.
Another soldier, from 19 Regiment Royal Artillery, who has not yet been named, was killed in Helmand province.
The soldier became the 63rd British military fatality in Afghanistan since the start of the US-led operation in November 2001.
