Flintoff has not ruled out IPL
Andrew Flintoff has admitted he could play in the lucrative Indian Premier League in future.
As an all-rounder, Flintoff would be one of the most sought-after players in the 20-over competition.
The England and Wales Cricket Board currently prevents players with central England contracts from playing in the competition but that could change if the international cricket calendar is rearranged to accomodate the IPL.
Flintoff is currently recovering from ankle surgery and he will start the season playing county cricket for Lancashire.
He said: "We will have to see what happens and how the competition pans out but my sights are firmly set on Lancashire.
"I have got no definite thoughts either way about it because I just want to get my game in order and my cricket in order. At this moment in time it is not really an option but further down the line, who knows."
The IPL's commissioner Lalit Modi has made it clear that he would like England players to appear in the competition and Flintoff would be considered a potential star.
Flintoff added: "It has been mentioned but I have got a lot on my plate at the minute.
"Everybody is asking me how I see the IPL going, where it is standing in world cricket, but I don't know.
"It is taking place in the next few weeks and we will have to see how it goes. But from my point of view I just want to get on the field for Lancashire."
