Lampard boo boys disappoint McClaren
Steve McClaren has revealed his disappointment at the Wembley boo boys who targeted Frank Lampard during England's 1-1 draw with Brazil at Wembley.
While David Beckham received the crowd's ovation on his return to the international arena, Lampard was booed as he once again failed to produce his top form for his country.
The Chelsea midfield star has previously shown his strength of character to bounce back and McClaren is backing him to do so again.
The England boss said: "I'm disappointed (he was booed). I don't like that for any player. But Frank is a tough kid and he has been through criticism before.
"People doubted he and Steven Gerrard can play together but they proved against a world-class team that they can do their job and they did it very well."
McClaren will now be hoping that captain John Terry will be fit to lead his country when they take on Estonia in Tallinn in their final Euro 2008 qualifier of the season.
Terry, who scored England's goal on 68 minutes, was substituted in the second-half as a precaution with a tight hamstring but McClaren said: "Hopefully we got him off in time."
England know that they must win in Tallinn on Wednesday night as they bid to boost their chances of qualifying for next summer's Euro 2008 finals in Switzerland and Austria.
