The Community Channel raises awareness about issues affecting people in their day-to-day lives.

Launched in September 2001, it is the only TV station dedicated to promoting issues from local and international communities, and from the voluntary and charitable sectors.

It is a free-to-air digital channel wholly owned by the Media Trust and funded by Big Lottery and the Home Office's Active Community Unit.

Content on the channel includes Summit about the Boy, Giving Nation TV Challenge, Together We Can, Louie, Me and Hepatitis C, No Limits and Charge.

The Community Channel is available 24/7 on Sky 539 and Virgin TV 233 while Freeview 87 broadcasts the channel from 6am to 9am.
