Everton win Uefa Cup opener
Everton enjoyed a Uefa Cup victory but Bolton could only draw and Aberdeen slumped to a heavy defeat.
Tim Cahill scored his first goal in almost a year as Everton beat Larissa 3-1 in their first UEFA Cup group match.
The Australia international was making his first start since the beginning of March due to a metatarsal injury, but he opened the scoring with a diving header in the 14th minute.
Leon Osman doubled Everton's lead before Cleyton Alexandre Silva pulled a goal back, but substitute Victor Anichebe scored the third to settle any nerves.
Bolton had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Braga in front of new manager Gary Megson.
El-Hadji Diouf came on as a substitute and put the home side ahead but Jailson equalised.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen were beaten 3-0 by the Greek giants Panathinaikos in Athens.
