Rapper Rhymes sentenced to probation
US rapper Busta Rhymes has been sentenced to three years probation for assaulting two people in 2006.
The Grammy-nominated star pleaded guilty to the assault charges, two driving infractions and weapons possession.
The rapper, whose real name is Trevor Smith, had previously pleaded innocent to the attacks but avoided a trial and a possible one year jail term after admitting to the offences.
He pleaded guilty to beating a fan who reportedly spat on his car in August 2006, then assaulting his driver, Larry Hackett, four months later.
After the proceedings the 35-year-old said: "I have no problem being a good dude because that's what I am."
Rhymes also received a fine for £625 for driving with a suspended licence in 2006 and driving while intoxicated in 2007.
He was also ordered to serve ten days of community service and attend an anti-drink driving programme.
