The rapper, whose real name is Trevor Smith, had previously pleaded innocent to the attacks but avoided a trial and a possible one year jail term after admitting to the offences.

He pleaded guilty to beating a fan who reportedly spat on his car in August 2006, then assaulting his driver, Larry Hackett, four months later.

After the proceedings the 35-year-old said: "I have no problem being a good dude because that's what I am."

Rhymes also received a fine for £625 for driving with a suspended licence in 2006 and driving while intoxicated in 2007.

He was also ordered to serve ten days of community service and attend an anti-drink driving programme.
