Only Rangers through to last eight
Rangers booked their place in the Uefa Cup quarter-finals after a dramatic 90 minutes at Werder Bremen.
A narrow 1-0 defeat was just enough to see Walter Smith's side through following their 2-0 first leg victory at Ibrox.
It was one-way traffic from the start but the Rangers defence stood tall until the 58th minute when Diego found the back of the net.
Werder kept pressing and even hit the crossbar through Boubacar Sanogo five minutes from time - but the Scottish side prevailed.
Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor refused to talk up his side's chances of winning the Uefa Cup - despite edging out hotly-tipped German side Werder Bremen.
He said: "Werder Bremen must have been one of the favourites and you can only take it one game at a time."
He added: "This is massive for the club. Even at the start of the Champions League draw nobody expected us to get here. We've dug deep tonight and that's what was needed."
