First pics of Jolie-Pitt twins

The first pictures of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's newborn twins have been unveiled in People magazine in the US.

The snaps of Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, which were also bought by Hello! in the UK, reportedly sold for as much as $14 million (£7.1m).

However, the pair have promised that all proceeds will go to charity.

The exclusive photo shoot with the twins, Jolie, Pitt and the couple's other four children - Maddox, Zahara, Pax and Shiloh - was organised by Getty Images.

The agency said in a statement: "The Jolie-Pitt family and Getty Images have agreed that all proceeds will be used for charitable purposes."

The couple sold the rights to the first public photoshoot of Shiloh and gave the money charity, while in 2007, they also sold the rights to pictures of Pax.

Jolie, 33, gave birth to the twins in France on July 12.
