Jade Goody, Heather Mills and Kate Moss are all on the shortlist for Celebrity Mum of the Year.

All three are on a list of 20 names put forward but they are outsiders after their controversial antics.

Jade spent several days away from her two sons earlier this year while she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and caused controversy by arguing with Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.

Heather has been involved in a legal tussle as she divorces ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and Kate has attracted attention for her relationship with Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty.

The winner will be decided by 10,000 public votes and a spokesman for the awards seems to believe Jade could be a contender because she still has loyal fans.

He said: "Her big mouth got her into trouble on Big Brother but the nation still thinks Jade Goody is a mum to admire."

Katie Price is the bookmakers' favourite for the award, followed by Nell McAndrew, Fern Britton and Lorraine Kelly.

The bookies predict Jade Goody will finish a long way down the list, they say Mel B is the only mum on the list with a slimmer chance of winning.
