The jury in the trial of eight men accused of plotting to blow up transatlantic passenger planes has entered its fourth full day of deliberations.

The jury was sent out to consider its verdict on Monday following a four-month trial at Woolwich Crown Court in London. Jurors are under no time pressure to reach a decision.

Prosecutors say the gang planned to detonate home-made liquid bottle bombs on planes flying from London to North America

The eight Muslim men face two charges of conspiracy to murder between January 1 and August 11 2006.

Prosecutors say the gang planned to detonate home-made liquid bottle bombs on planes flying from London to North America.

Giving evidence in their defence, Abdulla Ahmed Ali, 27, and Assad Sarwar, 28, said martyrdom videos recorded by some of the defendants were a hoax to be used as part of an internet documentary.

Ali admitted he considered exploding a device at the Houses of Parliament or Heathrow Airport's Terminal 3 as a publicity stunt to highlight flaws in British foreign policy.
