Bride, 82, marries groom, 24

A newly-wed couple in Argentina have proved that love knows no boundaries, especially when it comes to age.

Adelfa Volpes, aged 82, married 24-year-old Reinaldo Waveqche in a civil service after several years of engagement.

The bride was a friend of the groom's mother and love blossomed when Reinaldo went to live with Adelfa after his mother's death at the age of 15.

Asked if the marriage was purely spiritual, Adelfa laughed and said: "there is going to be more".

Reinaldo said he admired Volpes' zest for life and emphasised how special she was to him.

For their honeymoon, the newlyweds plan to go to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil followed later by a trip to Spain.
