Richards to watch Israel-Russia
England defender Micah Richards says he will be among those watching Russia's Euro 2008 qualifier in Israel on Saturday night.
Steve McClaren and his men are hoping the Israelis can revive their hopes of qualifying for next summer's European Championship finals by denying Guus Hiddink's side victory in Tel Aviv.
England were held to a 0-0 draw in Israel and Richards will be hoping for a repeat, telling reporters: "It will not be enjoyable but I will be watching the Israel-Russia game on Saturday night. I just have to.
"There is nothing I can do except hope and pray that Israel pick up at least a point. It is not nice to be relying on what other people are doing for us to qualify for the Euro 2008 finals but I am sure Israel will give it a good go."
If Russia fail to win in Israel, England know that victory over Group E leaders Croatia at Wembley next Wednesday would see them book their place in Austria and Switzerland.
Richards added: "There is still a lot to play for and it is not impossible that we can make it. We just have to concentrate on qualifying. We have to stay positive."
Meanwhile, with captain John Terry ruled out of the must-win Euro 2008 qualifier by injury and Rio Ferdinand suspended, Phil Neville is backing Everton club-mate Joleon Lescott to fill the void alongside Sol Campbell at the heart of McClaren's defence.
Lescott is set to win his third cap in Friday's friendly in Austria and Neville said: "The thing that impresses me most is that Joleon works so hard, keeps his feet on the ground and is dedicated.
"He is at a club now that is allowing him to progress as a centre-half and a left-back."
