Beckham returns to LA as Dad gets better

David Beckham has flown back to Los Angeles, after learning that his father is making a good recovery from a heart attack.

Ted Beckham, 59, is still recovering at the London Chest Hospital, in Bethnal Green, east London, after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday evening.

The LA Galaxy player flew to London to visit his father as soon as he heard the news.

Beckham's pop star wife, Victoria, cut short a promotional tour in Japan to visit her father-in-law in hospital.

After hearing Mr Beckham senior was making a good recovery from surgery, the couple last night flew back to the US from Heathrow.

"Ted's much better now. They wouldn't be going otherwise," Beckham's spokesman Simon Oliveira said.
