Hugh for Doctor Who?
Hugh Grant has set his sights on playing a baddie in Doctor Who and may make a guest appearance in the next series of the sci-fi hit.
The Notting Hill star, 46, said: "I'm in talks about a one-off role. I'd prefer to be a baddie. They're always more fun."
Grant was once offered a part but turned it down because he didn't think that it would be a hit.
"I was offered the role of the Doctor a few years back and was highly flattered.
"The danger with those things is that it's only when you see it on screen that you think, 'Damn, that was good, why did I say no?' But then, knowing me, I'd probably make a mess of it."
The part went to Christopher Eccleston, who played the BBC's ninth Doctor to critical acclaim.
Other Doctor Who villains include Sarah Parish as a giant spider and Peter Kay as a fat alien.
