Terry determined to lead England at Wembley
John Terry is determined to lead England when Steve McClaren's men resume their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign against Estonia.
With Terry carrying a booking into Saturday's game at Wembley, McClaren will want him to avoid picking up a yellow card which would rule him out of the tricky trip to Russia four days later.
But the Chelsea and England skipper, who is playing with a protective face mask after suffering a fractured cheekbone against Fulham ten days ago, wants to play every game he can.
Terry said: "My body is holding up fine. I am just delighted to be out there. I will do my best to make sure I am fit to be there week in, week out.
"We will have a chat, but it is all about England and what is best and right for the team, whether it is me, Rio (Ferdinand), Ashley (Cole) or Joe (Cole). We are all on bookings."
Meanwhile, Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Bentley has stood by his decision to withdraw from England's Under-21 squad for this summer's European Championships, insisting he feels "fresh and fit".
Bentley said: "I only made the decision I made for the benefit of my football career.
"By making that decision I wanted to make sure I was in the best condition possible to play in the Premier League or the highest level.
"And I'm feeling fit. That is what you want at this stage of the season - to be fresh and fit."
