Prince William has been named the world's "hottest young royal" by Forbes.com.

His younger brother, Prince Harry, was in second place with their cousins Zara Phillips and Princess Beatrice ranking third and fourth respectively.

William topped the list thanks to his "international intrigue and unparalleled media attention" - qualities which earned Harry second place.

The only non-British royal to make the top five was Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Monaco's Princess Caroline and fourth in line to the Monaco throne.

The influential business magazine compiled the rankings by counting international web and media coverage as well as family wealth.

Only unmarried royals under the age of 35 were considered.

The 20 royals who made the list represent almost £30 billion in wealth and 15 royal lineages.

Among those missing from the list are Beatrice's younger sister Princess Eugenie and Peter Phillips, whose recent wedding to Autumn Kelly would have taken him out of the running.
