Teen charged with party murder

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a teenager at a party.

Merseyside Police were called to a house in Ashcombe Road, Old Swan, Liverpool, just after 7am on Saturday and discovered Luke Howard had been stabbed.

Luke, who is 16 and from the Old Swan area, was taken to hospital but died.

The 15-year-old is due to appear at Liverpool Youth Court on Monday, a police spokesman said.

Wellwishers have left floral tributes outside the house where the stabbing took place.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a teenager in east London.

Charles Junior Hendricks, 18, was knifed in the chest in Walthamstow last Sunday and was found collapsed on the ground by a routine police patrol.

He was pronounced dead at Whipps Cross Hospital, Leytonstone, shortly afterwards.

The 16-year-old boy has been remanded in custody and will appear at Redbridge Magistrates' Court in east London on Monday.

Two other boys, aged 16 and 17, remain in police custody, while a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been bailed until late September pending further inquiries.

The attack happened close to where organisers of the London Olympics had planned to show the closing ceremony of the Beijing games on a giant screen.
