Agyeman set for Doctor Who return
Freema Agyeman is set to return to Doctor Who for an episode that revives the Sontarans, one of the show's classic enemies.
The mid-season episode, to be shown next year, will be the first time her character, Martha Jones, meets the Doctor's new assistant Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate.
Doctor Who's fourth series will also feature an appearance by murder mystery queen Agatha Christie and a trip to Pompeii, the Roman city destroyed by a volcano.
Guest stars include Felicity Kendal, Coronation Street's Sarah Lancashire, Blackadder's Tim McInnerny, The Thick of It's Peter Capaldi, Quadrophenia's Phil Davis and Howards' Way's Tracey Childs and Fenella Woolgar.
The fourth series will begin with Donna tracking down The Doctor during an alien emergency in modern-day London.
Agyeman said: "I am delighted to be back filming on Doctor Who with David and Catherine. Martha Jones returns in a fantastic storyline and the fans will get to see her in a whole new light."
The Sontarans first appeared on Doctor Who in 1973 when they met the Doctor as played by Jon Pertwee. Christopher Ryan, best known as Mike in 1980s sitcom The Young Ones, guest stars as the head Sontaran.
The tentacle-faced Ood will return in the episode Planet of the Ood.
