Maradona scores for charity
Soccer legends Diego Maradona and Zico have turned out for charity as a team of sporting celebrities took on a side of Italian singers.
The charity soccer match, played in Rome's Stadio Olimpico, was set up by Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti and Roma and Italy midfielder Francesco Totti.
Unable to play himself due to a recent injury, Totti had to limit his contribution to that of coach.
Maradona orchestrated the singers with Brazilian Zico playing alongside a team including Andrea Dovizioso, Bruno Conti and Giancarlo Fisichella from the world of Formula One and Italian actors Claudio Amendola and Sebastiano Somma.
The final score, if anyone cared, was 6-6 with Ramazzotti finding the net four times for the singers and Fisichella scoring twice for the celebrities.
Maradona finally got on the score sheet after theatrically winning a penalty and cooly putting his spot kick away.
The Argentine star continued to entertain the crowd before leaving the field shortly before full time to a standing ovation.
