Everton boss David Moyes says the Toffees need new faces to bring silverware to Goodison Park.

Moyes has yet to sign a new player this summer, and has spent the past few weeks frustrated at constant failure to bolster his squad.

"What we are facing is a numbers shortage. There is no way we will be able to survive at our current level if it continues like this" - David Moyes

Considering the players who have left in the summer, and the string of injuries, Everton are working with around ten players less than the last campaign when they finished fifth in the Barclays Premier League and had an extended Uefa Cup run.

With midfielder Tim Cahill still a month away from playing after his summer ankle operation, Everton will have the same squad on duty at The Hawthorns that lost 3-2 at home to Blackburn.

Moyes has injury doubts over skipper Phil Neville (ankle) and teenager Dan Gosling (thigh) to make his problems worse, and that could mean more teenagers thrown into the fray.

Jose Baxter, 16, became the club's youngest ever player last weekend, and he could be pressed into action.

Moyes said: "What we are facing is a numbers shortage. There is no way we will be able to survive at our current level if it continues like this.

"It will be impossible to have any improvement this season if we do not improve the numbers greatly."
