Commuters have suffered long delays across the country following an electrical supply problem.

Worst hit were passengers heading into London Bridge station who were stuck on the train for up to an hour.

Services affected included Southeastern and First Capital Connect which saw many workers extremely late for work.

In the meantime, there were further delays for passengers with the One train company and with Central Trains near Essex and East Anglia.

This was caused by a death near Great Chesterford, Essex, which led to hold-ups of an hour.

TransPennine Express services were disrupted also following a line-side equipment problem between Scarborough and York.

And earlier in the morning rush-hour, Southeastern passengers' journeys were affected by a broken-down freight train at Sevenoaks, Kent.
