Some keen museum-goers queued up as early as 5.30am in order to catch a glimpse of these historic terracotta figures.

The 20-strong travelling army complete with rare bronze artifacts and chariots, will first go on display in the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, California.

The army - which dates back to 259 BC - will then visit Atlanta, Houston and Washington DC.
