Women 'spend £7bn on holiday makeovers'
Women plan to spend £7 billion on makeovers to look gorgeous on the beach this summer, it has been revealed.
Women will each spend on average nearly £300 on clothes, shoes, accessories and beauty treatments, a survey from hotel chain Travelodge found.
The makeover includes £30 for waxing, £30 for a new bikini, £20 on jewellery and £15 on sunglasses.
Men plan to splash out just over £100 on average on pre-holiday spruce-ups.
That includes £20 for a haircut, £30 for a chest and back wax, £30 for shorts and T-shirt, £15 for sunglasses and £5 for flip-flops.
Taking other holiday items such as books, travel insurance and airport taxes into account, Britons will be spending an average of £545 each on pre-holiday purchases.
