Fletcher defends autobiography
Duncan Fletcher believes he can still land a high-profile job despite making revelations about some of his former players in a book.
Fletcher has been criticised for disclosing Andrew Flintoff had turned up for a training session under the influence of alcohol during the Ashes tour last winter.
But the former England coach has defended his autobiography, explaining the Flintoff revelations were necessary to explain the all-rounder's late-night drinking session at the World Cup, which became known as 'Fredalo'.
Fletcher said: "I just felt that I linked it directly to what had happened in Sydney, and just felt let down in such a serious situation.
"I was under huge pressure at the time."
Fletcher also believes Flintoff could be given another chance to captain England when he recovers from a foot problem.
He added: "If that foot lets him bowl as well as he can, there's no reason he shouldn't captain down the line."
The 2005 Ashes victory remains Fletcher's most memorable achievement as England coach, but it came at the end of a long period of success for the Test team and he is convinced his CV will earn him another coaching job soon.
He added: "From my point of view, I am quite proud of the record I have got.
"Hopefully, they would look and say we want to be a successful team, and which coach has been successful?"
