Ranieri warns Grant his job is not safe yet

Former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri does not believe current boss Avram Grant has saved his job by leading the club into the Champions League final.

Ranieri was sacked by Chelsea in 2004, weeks after guiding the team into the Champions League semi-finals for the first time.

"If Grant does not win I think he is finished in the job" - Claudio Ranieri

Now Grant has made history by steering Chelsea through to their first final, but Ranieri believes club owner Roman Abramovich will make a change unless they win the Champions League or the Premier League.

Ranieri said: "If Grant doesn't win I think he's finished in the job.

"I think if Grant wins something, then OK, maybe he'll continue. I don't know the mind of Roman Abramovich, it's very difficult to know what he thinks.

"It is the first final of Chelsea's history, going to Moscow, it's fantastic for him. He'll be very, very proud. It's a great achievement for English football."
