Alonso launches McLaren attack
Fernando Alonso has hit out at McLaren in a national newspaper, claiming once again the team he joined from Renault are "never going to be favourable" towards him.
The reigning World Drivers' champion feels the Grove-based team have given preferential treatment to British rookie Lewis Hamilton, who is four points clear of him at the top of the standings ahead of the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix.
The 26-year-old Spaniard, who brought the great Michael Schumacher's strangehold on the sport to an end, has been linked with a possible return to Renault at the end of the first year of his three-year contract at McLaren.
He has been quoted as saying: "We are going to try to make the impossible possible. But I know the team are never going to be favourable towards me."
McLaren team boss Ron Dennis, meanwhile, is promising a fair race at Interlagos on October 21 when the destiny of the title will be decided by his drivers Hamilton and Alonso as well as by Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen, who is seven points off the pace.
Dennis said: "We will do everything in order that our drivers have the right opportunity to win the World Drivers' Championship. Both of them need to do different things and the team will be supportive of that."
