It will feature singer Paul Rodgers, who joined the legendary band on stage as their frontman in 2005.

The band's last album, Made in Heaven, was released in 1995 and featured material written and recorded by Mercury, who died in 1991.

A spokesman said guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and Rodgers had already recorded the album, which will be released on September 1.

Queen have also announced a new four-month tour with Rodgers, starting in September, which will cover 14 countries in less than two months.
