Andrew Flintoff is on course to make his England comeback during the one-day international series against India.

Chairman of selectors David Graveney said of the talismanic all-rounder, who is playing as a batsman-only for his county Lancashire against Sussex: "It's great that he's back playing.

"He's started to bowl in nets and there's nothing that I've heard to the contrary that would prevent him from playing in the one-dayers towards the back end of the month" - David Graveney

"He's started to bowl in nets and there's nothing that I've heard to the contrary that would prevent him from playing in the one-dayers towards the back end of the month.

"Hopefully he will available for that, and he has certainly indicated that will be the case."

England's one-day series against India begins on August 21 at Hampshire's Rose Bowl ground.

Flintoff has been sidelined for his country all summer after undergoing a third operation on his ankle.
