Madonna has been named the biggest-earning female pop star, after raking in £36.2 million in a year.

American business magazine Forbes put Madonna at the top of their Cash Queens of Music list.

The majority of Madonna's money is thought to have been earned from the singer's Confessions tour, which brought in £130 million worldwide

Barbra Streisand was second on the list, having earned £30.1 million.
