A pilot who was killed when his light aircraft crashed has been named by police.
David Trueman, 65, from Galashiels in the Scottish Borders, died when the plane went down near Selkirk.
Mr Trueman was the only person in the two-seater craft.
Police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch are studying the wreckage to piece together what caused the plane to suddenly lose height.
Inspector David Watt of Lothian and Borders Police said: "I understand the plane had taken off from a local airfield earlier.
"We will be working closely with the Air Accidents Investigation Branch in an effort to discover the cause of the crash."
