Spurs shock Chelsea to win Carling Cup
Jonathan Woodgate headed an extra-time winner as Tottenham fought back from a goal down to beat Chelsea 2-1 in the Carling Cup final.
Tottenham dominated the first half but Chelsea took the lead shortly before half-time.
Didier Zokora body-checked Didier Drogba just outside the penalty area and Drogba wrong-footed Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson with a curling free-kick.
But Tottenham exerted pressure in the second half and they won a penalty when Wayne Bridge handled with 20 minutes left to play.
Dimitar Berbatov converted to send the match into extra time and Woodgate headed the shock winner when Petr Cech punched a Jermaine Jenas free-kick against the defender in the six-yard box and the ball ricocheted into the unprotected net.
Tottenham captain Ledley King said: "The spirit was fantastic and at 1-0 down a lot of teams would have folded but we were fantastic to come back and win."
It is the first time Tottenham have won a trophy since they beat Leicester City in the 1999 League Cup final.
Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas said: "This is the biggest moment of my career and we've worked so hard for this moment.
"As soon as we got in the changing rooms at half-time we knew we could get back in the game. Then we got that first goal and didn't look back."
