Game show winner plans giveaway
A man who won £65,000 on a TV quiz show has promised to give the money away to 1,000 people.
Andy Gilbert, 43, came close to winning the £1 million jackpot on the ITV1 programme Pokerface, hosted by Ant and Dec.
He folded and picked up a smaller windfall but now he wants to give away £65 slices of his winnings.
The married business consultant from Woodhouse Eaves, Leicestershire could still make a profit from his generosity as he is planning to write a book about the experience of handing out the cash.
He said: "My whole passion is about helping people to make a difference so I thought to myself what would be the biggest difference I could make with the money and wouldn't it be a fun way to spend it to benefit others.
"Helping to put a smile on the face of 1,000 people will be great."
Mr Gilbert said he does not want a flood of begging letters.
"It's got to be a surprise for that person and it's got to make a difference to them."
