Scorsese takes on Beatle film

Hollywood director Martin Scorsese is gearing up to make a documentary about the life of Beatle George Harrison.

The legendary film-maker will be joined on the production by Harrison's widow Olivia as a producer.

It's been reported that Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will also contribute to the film

The movie will show the pivotal moments in the guitarist's life , including his time as a songwriter and singer as one of the Fab Four.

It will also chart his move into the film world and his exploration of Eastern spiritual pursuits.

Scorsese, 64, famous for movies like Taxi Driver and Goodfellas and more recently The Departed, said: "George Harrison's music and his search for spiritual meaning is a story that still resonates today and I'm looking forward to delving deeper."

Harrison's second wife Olivia said hre husband would have felt "great joy" to know that the famous director was making a documentary of his life.

The film follows Scorsese's documentary about another musical legend, Bob Dylan.
