Arctic Monkeys scoop NME trio
Indie band Arctic Monkeys enjoyed triple success at the NME Awards while Pete Doherty emerged as the surprise hero of the night.
The Sheffield band picked up best British band, best track for Fluorescent Adolescence and best video for Teddy Picker.
It meant the quartet were able to continue their winning streak after walking away with two awards at the Brits last week.
NME readers also crowned Babyshambles singer Doherty as their hero of the year.
The Manic Street Preachers won a Godlike Genius award, which was presented by fellow Welshman, boxer Joe Calzaghe.
Brits winner Kate Nash beat Amy Winehouse to the best solo artist award.
And there was more bad news for Winehouse as she was voted NME's worst dressed artist, amid reports that she is gearing up to launch her own fashion range.
