Davis 'to decline job offer'
David Davis is expected to turn down a job offer from Conservative leader David Cameron.
The re-elected Haltemprice and Howden MP will meet the Tory leader next week to discuss a role in the civil liberties field.
It is thought he will decline the position because he believes it is not in his best interests and may prevent him from speaking out on future issues.
Mr Davis, who stood down as shadow home secretary in protest against Government plans to hold terrors suspects 42 days without charge, won back his Haltemprice and Howden seat with a majority of 15,355.
He was up against a record of 25 candidates.
As well as continuing his civil liberties campaign, he also plans a book on social mobility.
