Body is missing make-up artist

The body of a woman found in woodland is an Emmy award-winning make-up artist, police have said.

A woman walking her dog found the remains of Diane Chenery-Wickens off Worth Lane in the village of Little Horsted, near Uckfield, East Sussex, on Thursday.

Diane Chenery-Wickens, who worked on shows including Dead Ringers, The League Of Gentlemen and Casualty, was reported missing by her husband on January 24 after she failed to attend a meeting at the BBC in London

Hours later Mrs Chenery-Wickens' husband, David, 51, was rearrested in connection with her disappearance after the corpse was found about eight miles from the couple's country home in Duddleswell.

He remains in police custody tonight facing questioning.

A Sussex Police spokesman said a post-mortem examination was carried out and dental records were used to identify the body.

The family of Mrs Chenery-Wickens, 48, have been informed the decomposed body found is her.

The cause of death is yet to be established.
