Lost Lennon picture unveiled
A new photograph of John Lennon as a teenager has been discovered after almost 50 years.
The black-and-white snap shows the then 17-year-old music star dressed in a heavy camel hair coat in Liverpool's Lime Street in 1958.
Lennon is pictured with Nigel Walley, the former manager of The Quarrymen, which later became the Beatles.
The photograph was uncovered as part of a documentary which aimed to find new pictures of the Beatle. An anonymous Beatles collector who bought the image at auction came forward for the project.
Mr Walley had not seen the picture since 1958, and said it was 'emotional' seeing it again after all this time.
He said: "John was a very good friend of mine. One thing I know John would have loved, was seeing this photograph. It's something I'll always treasure now."
