X Factor loser Ray Quinn has shot straight to Number One in the UK album chart.

The 18-year-old Liverpudlian was pushed into second place in last year's competition final but entered the album charts at the top with his debut offering Doing It My Way.

"I feel on top of the world. I have to keep pinching myself to make sure the last few months have not been a dream" - Ray Quinn

His album of swing tunes trounced that of X Factor rival Ben Mills whose album released this week, Picture Of You, entered at number three.

He said: "I feel on top of the world. I have to keep pinching myself to make sure the last few months have not been a dream."

The young star celebrated the news with a live Mother's Day performance at Liverpool club, The Cavern.

The singer joined the likes of David Bowie and The Beatles on the Wall Of Fame.
