James Blunt is in the headlines again - but not for his singing or party antics this time.

A Piano owned by the crooner and used to compose his runaway hit You're Beautiful, has been sold for £1,200 at an auction.

The old Chappell upright piano was snapped up by an anonymous buyer at Bonhams in central London.

The instrument was left behind at a two-bedroom flat Blunt used to share with his sister and was then sold on by the flat's new owners.

The flat's deeds said: "The piano on which James composed his first pieces remains on the property and is included in the sale."

You're Beautiful has become a top UK wedding song whilst Goodbye My Lover has hit a sadder note as a popular funeral soundtrack.
