Games inspire human pin cushion

A Chinese acupuncturist is at the sharp end of celebrations to mark the Beijing Olympics.

Wei Shengchu already holds the Guinness World Record for sticking the most needles in his head - 1790 in 2004.

He is now demonstrating his support for the Games by inserting 205 needles into his scalp, each one bearing a different national flag for all the countries taking part

And when the competition begins on August 8 he will prick his head and body with 2008 acupuncture needles.

The crowning glory is a pin attached to a model of the Olympic torch which slides neatly into his brow.
