Crusaders and Reds join Super League
Updated 10.10 Tue Jul 22 2008
Celtic Crusaders and Salford City Reds have been granted licences to compete in an expanded Super League for the next three seasons.
The Rugby Football League (RFL) received applications from 19 clubs for the 14 licences available.
All 14 teams are guranteed three years in the competition
They awarded licences to all 12 existing teams along with the Crusaders and the Reds.
Promotion and relegation to and from Super League will be suspended until 2011.
So all 14 teams are guaranteed three years in the competition.
The RFL hope that will encourage every team to invest in improvement without fear of losing their income.
