Fernando Torres insists he will stay with Liverpool despite reports linking him with other clubs.

Chelsea's new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is thought to be interested in signing Torres, but the Spain striker confirmed he is happy to stay at Anfield.

"I am not on the market and that it's my desire to continue at Liverpool" - Fernando Torres

He told one newspaper: "I want to say very clearly that I'm not on the market and that it's my desire to continue at Liverpool.

"I'm very happy there and I want to carry on.

"I came to the club top win trophies. I have many years left on my contract and I expect to win some silverware there."

Torres joined Liverpool from Atletico Madrid last summer and scored 24 goals in 33 Premier League matches.

He scored Spain's first goal in the 2-1 victory over Sweden in their second Group D fixture and they are already guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals.
