Scottish debut for Keira and Sienna

The Edge Of Love has received its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Stars of the film Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller as well as festival patron Sir Sean Connery were in attendance for the Dylan Thomas biopic.

The story involves broken promises, passion, betrayal, the shadow of war and the constant threat of imminent death

Knightley said Miller was "the best looking date I could ask for!"

The film revolves around two feisty, free-spirited women, Caitlin Thomas and Vera Killick and their relationships with the charismatic poet Dylan Thomas who is married to Caitlin but who was Vera's childhood sweetheart.

The story involves broken promises, passion, betrayal, the shadow of war and the constant threat of imminent death.

The film's writer is Knightley's mother Sharman Macdonald, who fell in love with the poet's work as a young actress.

The London premiere will take place later with all the stars of the film expecting to make an appearance.

The Edge of Love is on nationwide release on June 27.
