"Being immersed in a big sloppy musical mess is something that is very definitely very exciting to us" - Matt Tong

Speaking before the show, drummer Matt Tong said there was "nothing better than being surrounded by fellow musicians".

"Being immersed in a big sloppy musical mess is something that is very definitely very exciting to us," Tong added.

However, they admitted they are yet to achieve the same success they've enjoyed in the UK because the US take a lot more work.

Tong said: "Once you get some kind of profile in the UK you know it is very easy for other people to access what it is that you do. Compared to the US, it's such a big country it takes a lot longer to 'work it'."

The South by South West takes place over four days and attracts bands from all over the world.
