Drug charges against Snow Patrol star dropped

Snow Patrol rocker Tom Simpson has had drug charges against him dropped.

The keyboard player was arrested just after he played with his band at the Live Earth Concert at Wembley Stadium in July.

The 35-year-old detained at RAF Northolt in Middlesex as he and his bandmates prepared to board a flight to Ireland where they were due to play at T In The Park.

After being taken in for questioning by police in Uxbridge, the star was only able to play at the Perthshire festival after he agreed to appear at Glasgow Sheriff court.

Court proceedings have been halted due to information received from Strathclyde Police, the Crown Office said.
