Beckham trains in Hawaii
David Beckham is hoping pre-season training in Hawaii will help him earn a recall to the England squad.
England coach Fabio Capello left Beckham out of the squad for last month's friendly against Switzerland because he had not played any competitive matches since November.
But the Major League Soccer season begins next month and Beckham's team LA Galaxy have travelled to Hawaii for a warm-up tournament.
Beckham said: "It's beautiful here. Yet, we're preparing for our season, we're in our pre-season training, and we're not match fit yet, but this is what we can do in these matches."
Galaxy will play against Gamba Osaka and then Houston Dynamo or Sydney FC.
Galaxy coach Ruud Gullit said: "We're looking forward to the games, and the team's preparing reasonably well. We've had some players with injury problems that need to be resolved, and we still take these games very seriously, but we have to take care of our players."
