Speeding biker busted on YouTube
A man has been charged with dangerous driving after police spotted a YouTube video showing him clocking up 170mph on his motorbike.
The Honda Fireblade is shown hitting one of the highest speeds even seen by Lothian and Borders Police while tearing along the Prestonpans to Longniddry Road in East Lothian.
This is not the only YouTube clip of the 34-year-old biker, who police say can be seen executing wheelies and accelerating to high speeds in first gear on a Yamaha R1 in another video.
Both videos have been removed from the website and will be used as evidence in the case.
Chief Inspector Kenny Buchanan said: "Thanks to the clips on the website we were able to clearly identify the rider of the bike and stop him in his tracks.
"We urge this to be a lesson to other drivers who foolishly believe that stunts like these are good entertainment".
Police are investigating another complaint after a video was posted on YouTube of a car being driven at over 100mph.
