Orlando Bloom, Harrison Ford and Jack Black have met their slimey fate at the annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

Celebrities young and old turned out to see the tradition of stars getting dumped with green-coloured goo over their heads, as the likes of Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus and Cameron Diaz picked up awards.

Hosted by Black, other winners on the night included Jessica Alba, Johnny Depp, singer Chris Brown and Eddie Murphy

Cyrus, the daughter of country star Billy Ray, was named favorite TV actress and favourite female singer, while Diaz won the "Wannabe" award for best celebrity role model.

Hosted by Black, other winners on the night included Jessica Alba, Johnny Depp, singer Chris Brown and Eddie Murphy.

The awards started back in 1987 as The Big Ballot, which found that kids wanted some influence in the world of pop culture.

Following the show's success, it was renamed the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in 1988.
