Student Hiroko Mima has been crowned Miss Universe Japan after beating off nine other leggy lovelies.
The 21-year-old college athlete, who enjoys the high jump as well as traditional Japanese dance, will represent the country at the global beauty pageant this summer.

The delighted Miss Mima said: "I'm really surprised I won because I was giving up halfway. I had faith in myself, but was losing confidence."
She will be under pressure to perform in the finals as last year's Miss Universe was Japanese contestant Riyo Mori.
The grand finals take place in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi on July 14.
